Rocky's horror show

Being an animal lover of note and a rather emotional one at that, I have to admit to sometimes having the attitude that 'what the eyes do not see, the heart will not grieve over' ...kind of 'out of sight, out of mind'. Whilst this way of thinking might sound completely hypocritical,the truth is, when it comes to animal cruelty, abuse or neglect, I am just not strong enough to deal with the reality of certain situations and rather than hinder those, that can cope (Thank god for them!!) by standing around like an blithering idiot, I rather help from a distance, whether that be donations of food, kennels and even cash when I can, not to mention spreading the word when doing my sales calls, about the amazing work of my favourite animal rescue www.africantails.co.za

Then today I heard via a friend that the dog of some mutual friends, namely Rocky was fighting for his life, having had chemicals poured over him and that I should look in the local newspaper at the relevant article. Normally, I would have not been able to read such a horror story, but guess that this now being closer to home forced me to read the details of this barbaric act and immediately tried to imagine how ANY human can even think of harming a defenceless animal in this way? However, I make no apologies for the fact that my imagination will not actually sink that low ...and though as expected, facing the truth of this animal cruelty has indeed made me cry once more, I have decided to rather pass this story on for others to read realising that although it might hurt, knowledge really is power and the more people that know incidents like this exist, hopefully the more people will fight against it.
